Israel Auda is a Nigerian visual artist whose work bridges realism and surrealism to explore emotion, identity, and the human experience. He began creating art professionally in 2019, working across mediums such as color pen, oil color, pastel, and charcoal. His compositions often blend vibrant color with symbolic imagery, reflecting both contemporary and traditional African influences.
Over the years, Israel has participated in notable exhibitions including the So Far Exhibition (2019), Felabration Art Festival (2024), LIMCAF (Life in My City Art Festival, 2024). He was also among the contestants in the Bic Pen Art Competition (2022)and has served as a Judge at the Art Beat Festival in both 2024 and 2025, contributing his experience and artistic insight to support emerging talents.
Through Iszy’s Creative Studio, Israel continues to express creativity that connects everyday narratives with visual poetry. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he continues to refine his creative philosophy and technical mastery. His artistic mission is to evoke reflection and appreciation for cultural identity, emotional depth, and the beauty found in everyday life. Israel is presently expanding his practice through thematic series that merge music, symbolism, and visual storytelling, inviting audiences into a dialogue between sound and sight.
Artist statement: My art fuses realism, surrealism, and spontaneous realism to express emotion and culture through vivid color and form. I pioneer “Afro-Chromism,” a style that celebrates African identity using bold hues, symbolism, and visual rhythm to bridge imagination and reality.
