ArtNativ Shipping & Damage Policy
Purpose
This policy outlines ArtNativ’s responsibilities and expectations regarding the shipping,
handling, and potential damage of artworks during transit. It applies to all artists,
buyers, and logistics partners using the ArtNativ platform.
Our goal is to deliver original artwork safely while protecting both the artist’s work and the
collector’s investment.
Section A – Artist Shipping Responsibilities
1. Initial Shipment to ArtNativ (From Artist to Lagos Hub)
Artists are responsible for sending approved artworks to ArtNativ’s Lagos hub or a
designated fulfillment center.
a. Packaging Standards (Required)
To ensure safety during transit, all artworks must be packed using the following standards:
• Use bubble wrap or foam padding around all artwork surfaces.
• Insert artwork into a rigid envelope, hard-sided box, or tube (for unframed work).
• Waterproof wrapping is required to prevent moisture damage.
• Use fragile/“Do Not Bend” labels clearly.
• Include a protective layer for framed art (e.g., corner protectors, glass film).
• For sculptures or delicate work, double boxing is encouraged.
ArtNativ may request photos of the packaged artwork before pickup or dispatch.
b. Liability
ArtNativ is not liable for any damage or loss incurred during this leg of the shipment if the
packaging fails to meet these standards.
2. Courier Pickup (Optional Service)
Artists may request ArtNativ to organize a pickup. If accepted:
• Pickup fees will be deducted from the final payout.
• ArtNativ does not accept liability for damage due to improper packaging at pickup.
Section B – ArtNativ’s Responsibility
1. Inspection & Repackaging
Once artwork is received at ArtNativ’s hub:
• We will inspect it for quality and authenticity.
• ArtNativ will repackage it for collector delivery using premium, secure materials.
If the artwork is damaged upon receipt at our hub, the artist will be notified and may be
asked to reproduce, repair, or refund.
2. Final Delivery to Collector
ArtNativ handles final shipping to the buyer. We work with reliable logistics partners and:
• May insure high-value shipments.
• Use protective and branded packaging to ensure a professional unboxing
experience.
Section C – Collector Expectations
1. Receiving Artwork
Upon delivery, buyers are advised to:
• Inspect the package immediately upon receipt.
• Take clear photos of any visible damage before opening.
• Report damage to ArtNativ within 48 hours of delivery via support@artnativ.art.
Failure to report within this timeframe may void eligibility for refund or replacement.
2. Damage Claims
If damage is reported within the required timeframe:
• ArtNativ will investigate the claim and coordinate with the artist and courier.
• Buyers may receive a refund or replacement depending on the artwork’s availability
and artist’s discretion.
• Buyers may be asked to return damaged work (at no extra cost).
Section D – What ArtNativ is Not Responsible For
ArtNativ is not liable for:
• Damage during shipment from the artist to ArtNativ caused by poor packaging.
• Natural disasters (fire, flood, earthquakes) or force majeure events.
• Damage due to improper handling by the collector after delivery.
• Customs delays or import duties imposed by destination countries.
Section E – Refunds & Compensation
• For damage caused while under ArtNativ’s care, the artist will be paid up to the net
payout value, and the buyer will be refunded in full.
• If the damage occurred before reaching ArtNativ, the artist may be asked to:
o Recreate the piece (if applicable)
o Cover partial costs or accept a deduction
o Refund the buyer (in full or partial)
Final Notes
• Artists who repeatedly fail to meet packaging standards may be removed from the
platform.
• ArtNativ reserves the right to modify this policy as logistics evolve or based on
regional regulations.
