This journey reflects the pursuit of careers that shape their destinies.
"The Sojourners" explores the pivotal career choices that shape our lives and destinies. This piece features four sojourners, symbolizing individuals who carry bags representing their wealth of knowledge and experience while seeking career fulfillment aligned with their true paths.
Through my experiences, I have observed how parental influence can impact a child's career decisions. Sojourning often involves crossing borders in pursuit of better opportunities. I have seen an engineering graduate who discovered a passion for cooking and is now thriving as a chef. Similarly, Queen Latifah transitioned from a successful music career to find joy in acting. A former football player became an opera singer, driven by a deep connection to music and the arts. Ringo Starr, a musician and actor, is currently exhibiting his paintings at 85 years old.
Career trajectories can be vertical, remaining within the same field, as seen with Ringo Starr, or horizontal, involving a complete career shift, like an engineer becoming a chef. These transitions reflect alignments with one's destiny, and the sooner one discovers this alignment, the more fulfilling the journey can be.
Personally, I transitioned from studying painting to working in graphics and advertising, finding joy in realizing my dreams. This work represents a new chapter in my artistic journey. Ultimately, this piece serves as a reminder that we are all sojourners in this world.
