You Be Queen portrays the resilience and dignity of Nigerian girls while addressing their struggles. The figure draped in the national flag embodies identity and strength, while the red backdrop reflects pain and trauma. A crown on rough wood above her head symbolises triumph and transformation, showing that greatness can emerge even from hardship and loss.
I created You Be Queen to honour Nigerian girls who face adversity yet carry untold strength. Inspired by Leah Sharibu, the Chibok girls, and countless others, the work speaks of pain, hope, and transformation. It is my call to dignify the girl child and affirm her potential to rise above trauma into greatness.
