This work was created to mark the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, a milestone that reshaped humanity’s view of possibility. Painted in acrylic on paper, it reflects on the resilience, precision, and determination required to carry exploration beyond Earth. The textured strokes evoke the starkness of space while underscoring the grit that fueled one of history’s most daring achievements. More than a commemoration, it stands as a reminder of how persistence and courage can turn the unimaginable into reality.
The painting was created after a news feature on the July 20 anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing. Drawn to the story of astronauts and their resilience, I reflected on the determination it took to step into the unknown. My admiration for space and the habit of looking to the stars shaped the choice of subject, while working in acrylic on paper allowed for experimentation and immediacy. The title, To the Moon N Back, extends beyond the historic event—serving both as a nod to exploration and as a lasting expression of devotion.
