“Woven Echoes” done with yarn thread on black velvet material paste on board . This piece celebrates the strength and grace of Ozoro Isoko women who carry life’s burdens with pride and rhythm. Crafted entirely with colorful yarn threads, each strand weaves stories of resilience, identity, and memory — reflecting the essence of EchoMind Culture. This piece honors womanhood and tradition, merging art and heritage into a vivid expression of collective strength.
“Woven Echoes” was inspired by the resilient women of Ozoro, in Isoko land — women whose lives embody grace, strength, and quiet endurance. Growing up, I often watched them walk to the farms or markets with babies on their backs, baskets on their heads, and songs on their lips. Their daily rhythm became a symbol of unity, love, and purpose — an echo of generations before them.
Through this piece, I wanted to immortalize that rhythm — the beauty found in labor, the dignity in perseverance, and the unspoken harmony between woman and nature. The work reflects the core of EchoMind Culture: art that remembers, heals, and awakens.
Using colorful yarn threads, I replaced the brush with strands of life — weaving instead of painting. Every layer, knot, and curve became a heartbeat, forming patterns that mirror the interconnectedness of memory and identity. The tactile process was meditative; as each thread intertwined, I felt a deep connection to my heritage and to the women whose stories shaped me.
The themes explore resilience, cultural identity, motherhood, and collective memory. Emotionally, it carries both pride and reverence — a tribute to the women who built strength out of struggle. In every woven line lies a story, a prayer, and a rhythm — the living echoes of Isoko womanhood.
