This piece portrays Africa through symbolic animals, landscape, and cultural allegory. The iconic wildlife reflects Africa’s rich heritage, tribal stories, and myths, symbolizing strength, wisdom, resilience, and protection. The sunset landscape represents renewal, community gatherings, storytelling, and shared traditions. Overall, the artwork celebrates the beauty of God’s creation and honors the greatness of the tribe called Africa.
I have always loved the cultural heritage that Africa possesses and the beauty that radiates through every aspect of its culture. Growing up as an African, specifically from Nigeria, I have always been deeply fascinated by the unique blend of diversity that makes the continent truly extraordinary.
But the major focus and reason behind creating this piece was not just to highlight these aspects individually, but to design something that represented Africa in a broader, more universal way—something that could visually communicate “Africa” at a single glance. This time, I wanted to go deeper into nature, because nature itself is one of Africa’s most powerful storytellers. Our natural surroundings—the land, the animals, the skies, the forests, and the atmosphere—all speak loudly about who we are.
The landscape view within the artwork also plays a deeply symbolic role. Africa’s sunset is one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring images associated with the continent. The African sunset has been a backdrop for many significant cultural moments: evening storytelling, communal gatherings, cooking meals, and celebrating life. It sets the tone for moments of reflection, unity, and togetherness.
At the heart of this piece is also a strong spiritual expression—an acknowledgement of the majesty of God and the divine design visible in nature. Africa’s beauty, diversity, is a reminder of the greatness and wisdom of the Creator. It is a great and wonderful TRIBE CALLED AFRICA.
