About the Artist
Full name: Ilevbaoje olokhirere franca Artist name: Ifpaul
Ilevbaoje Franca is a self-taught visual artist born on July 1, 1992 in Lagos, Nigeria. After completing her primary and secondary school in lagos, she pursued a degree in Food Technology. However, her deep-seated passion for art led her to pivot careers, returning to her home city of Lagos where she now lives and works.
Franca's artistic journey has been significantly shaped by a community of fellow artists. She has been mentored by notable figures such as Abass Kelani, and Ibe Ananaba, and a close follower of the works of Patrick Bezalel. She further honed her skills through the African Female Mentorship Program. These influences are evident in the detailed and evocative pieces she creates.
Primarily working with oil on canvas, Franca uses her brushes to explore the intricate layers of the human psyche. Her art is a deep dive into the profound influence of spirituality on our consciousness. She also experiments with other mediums like acrylics and mixed media to fully realize her artistic visions. Through her work, she prompts viewers to consider how their personal beliefs not only shape their individual lives but also the world around them.
Drawing inspiration from her personal journey and observations, Franca's paintings are a powerful visual dialogue about the interconnectedness of our inner and outer worlds.
