Artwork story

The Worthy Reward This oil painting features a regal and resolute soldier in a golden crown and red cloak, firmly holding a formidable sword. Against a dark background, she embodies the ultimate reward for a believer's journey through trials and temptations. The sword signifies battles overcome, while the crown represents the greater, earned recompense.

"The Worthy Reward" is the fourth piece in the Believer's Journey series. It was inspired by the passing of a family friend, Mpa Charles, known for his humility and integrity. Despite his generosity, he was often perceived as poor. His death prompted me to reflect on life after death and the rewards promised to the righteous. Many virtuous individuals do not receive earthly rewards, while some do. I ponder the implications of this: what if a person does not achieve sufficient merit in life? How grand would Mpa's mansion be in heaven? Would the scars endured on earth hold any significance? These questions resonate with me not only for Mpa but for every faithful believer. Through this piece, I explore the complexities of faith, reward, and the human experience, inviting viewers to contemplate their own beliefs and the nature of righteousness.
